Armenia Noah´s Ark

1) Popularity - Name - Country of Origin
The gold investment coin "Armenian Noah's Ark" was first introduced in 2020. The design for this bullion coin was inspired by the well-known biblical story of Noah and his Ark. According to the biblical account, the historical Noah's Ark was said to have landed on Mount Ararat or in its vicinity after the flood. The gold coin is minted with a fineness of 999.9/1000 by Leipziger Edelmetallverarbeitung GmbH (LEV) in Germany.

2) Coin Description
The obverse (front) of the silver coin features the coat of arms of Armenia. It also displays the face value, purity, fine weight, the LEV mintmark, and the year of mintage. The bullion coin is bilingual, with inscriptions in English and Armenian. The reverse (back) side showcases a finely crafted depiction of the iconic Noah's Ark. In the background, Mount Ararat is visible, along with a rising sun. This is where Noah's journey on the ark ended. Additionally, a dove with an olive branch, symbolizing the end of the flood, can be seen. The inscription "NOAH'S ARK" is featured in both languages, similar to the obverse. The edge of the coin is reeded and does not bear any inscription.

3) Face Value - Legal Tender - Value
These coins are official legal tender in Armenia. The face value of individual gold coins currently ranges from 100 to 50,000 Armenian Dram (AMD). As is typical with bullion coins, the face value is significantly lower than the intrinsic value based on the gold content.

5) Special Features - Mintage Years - History - Mintage
This gold investment coin is an agency issue, with the Republic of Armenia (Central Bank of Armenia) as the issuer. Leipziger Edelmetallverarbeitung GmbH (LEV) has been entrusted with the production and global distribution of the coin. Similar to many bullion coins, the Armenian gold coin features a consistent design each year. The choice of the biblical story as the motif is due to its connection to Armenian history. Until 1920, Mount Ararat was mostly located within Armenian territory. The border between the poorest economy in the Caucasus and Turkey ran exactly over the summit of the mountain. After World War I, Armenia was divided between the Soviet Union and Turkey, with the entire mountain falling under Turkish control. Therefore, Mount Ararat is no longer part of Armenia geographically, but it still holds significant symbolic value and is featured in the national coat of arms. The Noah's Ark gold coin was introduced in 2020, nine years after the successful launch of the silver coins in the market. All gold coins are packaged in an elegant square plastic case with a certificate.
