The "Welcome Stranger" is the largest alluvial gold nugget ever found, with a weight of 97.14 kg (net weight of 72.02 kg). It measured 61 cm × 31 cm and was discovered by gold prospectors John Deason and Richard Oates on February 5, 1869, near Moliagul in the Australian state of Victoria, approximately 15 kilometers northwest of Dunolly.
In September 1980, Kevin Hillier took his new metal detector for a spin in his small hometown of Wedderburn, Australia. Instead of a bottle cap or a paperclip, he found the 27 kg "Hand of Faith" gold nugget just a few centimeters below the ground. Today, it resides in the lobby of the Golden Nugget Casino. The "Hand of Faith" is the largest remaining gold nugget ever discovered in Australia, the sixth-largest found in the country, and the largest ever found using a metal detector.
On the other hand, the "Golden Eagle" is also considered the fourth-largest nugget ever found in Australia. Jim Larcombe, a 17-year-old, discovered this 32.20 kg nugget in the year 1931 in Larkinville, Australia. Its shape resembled that of a bird with spread wings.
The "Little Hero" is a remarkable gold nugget weighing 333 oz / 25.50 kg, discovered in 1890 in a remote area in Western Australia. Its impressive size and shape, resembling a little hero, earned it its name. As a symbol of bravery and determination, the "Little Hero" holds immense value as a sought-after collector's item and is cherished by collectors and investors worldwide, making it a valuable addition to the prestigious Australian Nugget Gold series.
This coveted coin is limited to 7,500 pieces worldwide.
