The Australia Super Pit Coin is, as the name suggests, manufactured in Australia. The Perth Mint, the government-owned Australian coin mint, is responsible for its production. Notably, the gold used in the "Super Pit" coin comes directly from the depicted mine, guaranteed by the Perth Mint. The dimensions of Australia's largest and most famous "Open pit" gold mine are immense: an impressive 3.5 x 1.5 km with a depth of over 600 meters. Annual production: approximately 22 tons of gold.

2) Coin Description
The gold used in this coin is sourced directly from the legendary Super Pit Mine, which is also featured as the motif on the coin's reverse side. In addition to the motif, the reverse side of the coin bears the inscription "Super Pit AUSTRALIA 1oz 9999 Gold" and the Perth Mint's mintmark. The authenticity feature, in the form of a micro-laser-engraved letter, is included within the word "AUSTRALIA" and can only be seen under magnification. This authentication function significantly deters counterfeiting attempts of the coin.
The new Jody Clark portrait of Queen Elizabeth II and the currency denomination are depicted on the obverse side of each coin. Queen Elizabeth II serves not only as the associated head of state but also as the Queen of Australia.

The Super Pit Coin is recognized as legal tender in Australia and has a face value of 100 AUD for the 1-ounce denomination. The material value of bullion coins is typically far higher than the face value.
